Dear Friends and Partners in Ministry,
As we have entered into the autumn season here in West London, there is a feeling of excitement and anticipation amongst the membership at Cornerstone Baptist Church! God has been working in the lives of people and doing a work of grace in their hearts and lives! Sara has now handed the Junior Church ministry over to five teams of teachers and helpers. I have handed the music ministry over to two men in the church to lead the congregation in worship. We have our first "batch" of disciplers almost finished with our discipleship training, they will now be discipling their own converts! With all of these good changes have come many new challenges, but we are so very thankful that the Lord continues to add His blessings to the work and more importantly receives the glory from all of this!
We covet your prayers in several key areas:
1) Our church has a rare opportunity to purchase our own meeting place! This is a massive development as far as Independent Baptist Missions in London goes. As far as we know, there is no Independent Baptist Church inside the M25 that owns its own building! Many Baptist Churches are in the Baptist Union or in a Calvinistic Association that owns the actual building, but allows them to "borrow" the buildings. Please pray for God's will to be done!
2) Please pray that we will be able to effectively train four men in the church that have surrendered their lives to preach the gospel of Christ. We are by faith beginning an informal Bible Institute at the beginning of 2010, we are already anticipating 14 students for the first quarter! These are exciting times, but extremely busy ones as well!
3) Our church has had the privilege to have an Asian Fellowship for Pakistani believers every Sunday afternoon. We are making plans to establish an Urdu speaking church in 2010 in Southall, Middlesex. Please pray that God will use this new church plant to not only evangelize the rapidly growing Urdu speaking population in London, but also make an impact in Pakistan with the gospel of Christ!
4) There are 32 boroughs in London, England. It is our desire to see a Bible preaching church in each borough of London! We are praying that God will raise up more preachers from our congregation and around the world to come to this incredible city to see God make a name for Himself! We are looking forward to Cornerstone Baptist Church being duplicated again and again for God's glory!
5) Please pray for a journal that I and another close friend of mine are producing that will systematically help our new Christians grow in their understanding of Scripture and the great doctrines of the Bible. Our goal is to have it printed by December 20th of this year!
Although London is in England, it certainly is much different than the rest of the country. We are more excited today than we ever have been about the potential to reach the world with the gospel from one city! Please continue to pray for God's power and revival in this city once again!
